Grantmaking

We are now welcoming expressions of interest from First Nations communities and organisations working on climate or environmental justice. EOI open until Oct 23rd 2022.

To apply to be considered for this grant please fill in this quick and simple form here providing maximum 200 words about your organisation.

We are looking to hear from organisations that are engaging in:

  • Advocacy efforts that call out and push back against the systemic issues at the root of climate injustice. For example, resisting and preventing extractive industries impacting First Nations communities and country, advocating for decolonised climate action, advancing self-determination on climate solutions, advocating for stronger climate policies, or other.

  • Building grassroots movements and community power, movement building and advocacy trainings, workshops or convening spaces.

  • First Nations led climate solutions and initiatives.

  • Initiatives that restore or maintain health to Culture and Country.

  • Advancing a just climate future through narrative, research, or storytelling.

We’re open to accepting other projects or initiatives led by First Nations communities that work to advance climate justice on a case-by-case basis. If this is you, please express interest via this form.

Eligibility

  • Activities must take place in Australia, the Torres Strait, or the Pacific Islands.

  • A not-for-profit organisation (however organisations do not need to be registered on the ACNC).

  • Recipients do not need to hold DGR status.

Grant Amounts

Grant amounts are between $25,000-50,000 per year with the option of multi-year granting (up to a maximum of three years). If you are applying for a multi-year grant please include that in your expression of interest.
